Impact of Supportive Supervisor on Doctoral Students’ Research Productivity: The Mediating Roles of Academic Engagement and Academic Psychological Capital

This research investigates the impact of supportive supervisors on doctoral students’ productivity, with parallel mediation effects academic engagement and psychological capital as two mediators. Data has been collected through an online survey from international students ( N = 415) studying in six research-oriented universities mainland China. Confirmatory factor analysis structural modeling were used conducted by adopting 04 Model PROCESS. The results indicated that a supervisor is positively related to productivity. Student factors—academic capital—partially mediate relationship between findings suggest supervisor’s behavior essential for encouraging capital. Furthermore, are more productive, their resources increased under supervision, which ultimately significantly increases
